School-based health centersThe School-Based Health Center (SBHC) program in Columbia County provides children and youth with access to primary care and mental health services in order to have healthy students that are ready to be learn.
There are four SBHCs in Columbia County: Clatskanie SBHC, Sacagawea Health Center in St. Helens, Rainier Health Center, and Spencer Health & Wellness in Vernonia. Students can get health screenings, sports physicals, well-checks, immunizations, and mental health counseling among many other health services. SBHCs are located on school campuses in order to overcome barriers like transportation and to prevent students from missing school as much as possible. We accept most insurances, but no student will be turned away due to their ability to pay. Every child in Oregon can report a tip confidentially to SafeOregon. A SafeOregon technician will immediately receive the tip and respond accordingly. Tips can be submitted online, by an app, calling, email, or texting. Common tip topics include, but are not limited to:

Youth Advisory Councils (YACs) allow students to promote health and wellness at their schools in partnership with the School-Based Health Center program. Two schools have active YACs and any student is welcome to join.
