Our clinic provides prenatal care to pregnant women through our Certified Nurse Midwife, Kathryn D. Kuskie, If you choose to be seen at our office for your current prenatal care, you will deliver your baby at OHSU in Portland by Midwives. Our office accepts clients with the Oregon Health Plan (OHP) and clients without insurance will be seen on a sliding fee scale according to your income and number of people supported by that income. We also accept private insurance, please call to see if we are an in-network provider for your plan.
Our office provides prenatal care and education for low-risk expectant mothers. Any medical care not related to the pregnancy cannot be provided, but information and referral will be provided as needed. The client is responsible for obtaining other medical care and for any emergency care. High risk clients will be referred to specialists for care. If the pregnancy is low risk, but there is an anticipated need for additional high-tech tests or a cesarean section, the client is responsible for making those financial arrangements with the institution delivering the baby. The client is also responsible for making financial arrangements for routine delivery at OHSU. If the client chooses to deliver elsewhere, the clinic will help make referrals and will forward all pertinent records.
Routine laboratory testing will be provided. The standard testing for pregnant women includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Other tests may be ordered as needed for individual pregnancies. All lab testing will be billed to the client and/or insurance by the lab.
We encourage all of our expectant mothers to attend childbirth class and to apply for WIC services if eligible.
