Amber Bathon, LPC MAC
A bit about Amber's practice:
Counseling should be a safe space for students to explore their strengths and challenges; it is an opportunity to do this work in a safe, non-judgmental, affirming space. My practice is trauma-informed, collaborative, and focuses on creating solutions rather than staying stuck in the "problem". I believe that the most important part of therapy is the formation of the therapeutic relationship which creates trust and respect between myself and those I work with; this creates a connection that allows me to challenge ways of thinking that aren't working and explore new ways to express feelings and feel heard. While talking might be our primary method for therapy, I also utilize writing, drawing, play, and other therapeutic activities that allow for a more meaningful exploration and development of self.

If you have health insurance, please bring your insurance information (card) with you to your appointment.

Appointments can be made by calling us during regular business hours. We do offer same day appointments but please call before arriving to the clinic to schedule an appointment.

Student Satisfaction Surveys: Students between the ages of 12 and 19 who visit the SBHC may be asked to complete an anonymous survey after their visit. The survey asks about the student's satisfaction and experience at the SBHC, as well as some general questions about their physical and mental health status. Students can refuse to take the survey and this will not affect their ability to get care at the SBHC. To see a copy of the survey, please go to the "SBHC Data Requirements" link on http://healthoregon.org/sbhc . If you have questions about the survey, please contact the SBHC State Program Office at sbhc.program@state.or.us
